Synopsis

The Invertebrate Zoology Practicum with Workbook is intended for conducting practical classes in the course Invertebrate Zoology within the Biology study program. The practicum is designed as a supplementary educational material that enables students to more easily acquire theoretical knowledge through practical work, observation, analysis, and interpretation of zoological material.

The content of the practicum includes exercises that follow the main teaching units of invertebrate zoology, with a particular focus on morphology, anatomy, systematics, ecology, and the diversity of the most important groups of invertebrates. Each exercise contains a brief theoretical introduction, a description of materials and methods, tasks for independent work, as well as questions to assess acquired knowledge.

The workbook, as an integral part of the practicum, is designed to allow students to actively participate in classes through note-taking, drawing of specimens, solving tasks, and analyzing observation results. In this way, it promotes the development of practical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to draw independent conclusions.

The practicum is adapted to the syllabus of the course Invertebrate Zoology within the Biology study program and can be used as a primary guide for conducting laboratory and field exercises, as well as for independent student learning
