Synopsis

Paradiplomacy, as a phenomenon at the crossroads of internal politics, international relations and identity dynamics, has become crucial for understanding contemporary politics in the age of polycentricity. Nevertheless, despite its growing importance, it is still marginalized in the domestic academic literature, insufficiently defined and often understood as a deviation from the classic models of diplomacy, rather than as their expansion or transformation. This book seeks to fill that space and offer a comprehensive account of the concepts, motives, instruments and practices that shape the paradiplomatic activities of sub-state actors.

In order to more comprehensively understand the complexity of paradiplomatic phenomena, it was necessary to structurally shape the content that will enable a gradual introduction to the various aspects of this phenomenon. The structure of the book has been carefully designed so that it rests on a logical superstructure of concepts, analyzes and concrete examples, in order to enable the reader to systematically follow the development of the topic.
