A quarter century of social worker education in Republika Srpska

Twenty-five years since the creation and development of higher education for the profession of social worker in Banja Luka is a time that demands that all the facts about it, successes, problems and ways of solving them, the shaping of its development, as well as all those who participated in it as teachers, students and as administrative and auxiliary workers, in all the necessary supporting services, be paid attention to through a monographic overview of the path traveled. This permanently provides the possibility of an objective insight into the training of a sensitive and important profession, which is developing and whose significance in society has a growing trend. And not only because of that, but also because of the role and significance of history in a general sense, which is summed up in the phrase that "history (the past) is contained in the present and shapes the future". In order for this role of natural social processes to be realized, it was necessary to collect, systematize and preserve all objective facts about the origin and development, in this case, of education for social work, and make them transparent and accessible to scientists and the general public, so that they could influence the current and future processes of its realization, duration and development.
By defining the monograph conceptually and structurally, the topics that must be determined are determined, and then others that are important and can be useful in the future, and for others, especially those who are thinking of getting a higher education for social work, and that the whole process from its inception to the present years is presented truthfully, objectively, methodologically correct, freely - with author's texts, appropriate analyses, attitudes, memories and messages, in a linguistically clean and technically appealing way, which will remind interested in the topic of this monograph that everything that nature gave us and everything that people created before us, or with us, is amazing enough to move us to surpass them, to be equal to them.
In seven chapters, on about 350 pages, everything that could be found in the form of facts, author's texts, evaluations, attitudes, memories, experiences and messages of numerous participants in the creation, work and development of the Social Work Study Program at the University of Banja Luka is placed, with the desire to know about social work studies how and why they were created, what they are and how they should develop.
