The book "Diseases of the Salivary Glands" is an original comprehensive presentation of the latest information on the factors that lead to diseases of the salivary glands, modern diagnostics and therapy. The chapters describe the structure of the salivary glands and the basic characteristics of saliva, as well as congenital and acquired diseases of the salivary glands and their clinical features. Of special importance is the chapter that describes the latest achievements of the fast-growing modern technology for detecting common diseases of the oral cavity (such as: caries, periodontal disease, peri-implantitis, oral lichen planus and others) with a non-invasive approach, through saliva biomarkers. In addition, saliva biomarkers can be used as a medium in the diagnosis of cardiovascular and renal diseases, as well as cancer.
