Genetic basis of lipid metabolism and obesity

Disorders in lipid metabolism as well as obesity are becoming an increasingly common problem both in the population of children and adolescents, and in the adult population. In addition, a significant number of comorbidities occur as a consequence of obesity. Although the external factors that contribute to obesity and accompanying complications are known to a significant extent, it is of great interest to conduct genetic research that would reveal potential variations in the human genome that contribute to or are associated with obesity and metabolic syndrome. Therefore, the results presented in this scientific monograph make an exceptional contribution to shedding light on this problem, as well as providing information on potential gene therapy, studies of which are being conducted in large numbers worldwide. In addition, the author presented the influence of various genetic variations that are directly related to nutrient metabolism, and their combined effect on the metabolic state in humans, which opens up the possibility of a new, nutrigenetic therapeutic approach in treating these conditions. Genetic variations in the human genome that are associated with various metabolic diseases represent a current approach in viewing, analyzing, and potentially treating obesity and metabolic syndrome, the research of which opens up new possibilities for detecting potential genetic markers that contribute to this condition.
