Oversight of Police Work

The monograph Oversight of Police Work presents a comprehensive scientific and expert analysis of the mechanisms of police supervision and control as one of the key conditions for the lawful, professional and responsible performance of police work in a democratic society. Starting from the importance of the police as a state body with special powers and means of coercion, the authors consider the need to establish efficient control mechanisms that ensure the protection of human rights and freedoms, strengthen the rule of law and improve public confidence in the work of the police.

The content of the monograph is systematized through several interconnected thematic units in which the concept and role of the police, democratic oversight of the security sector, the position of the police officer in the criminal law system, as well as theoretical and practical aspects of police control are analyzed.
